FI72-723 Vision-Control Industrial Box PC

FI72-723 vision-control box PC with N97/N305, 3 LAN, 8DI/8DO, trigger, lighting and encoder I/O, plus 9-36 V DC input.

The FI72-723 is a fanless industrial box PC for machine-vision inspection systems that need camera triggering, lighting control and encoder feedback. Its 180 x 165 x 67 mm enclosure combines an Intel Alder Lake-N N97 or Core i3-N305 processor, three GbE ports, 8DI/8DO, two trigger outputs, two light-source controls, two encoder inputs and a 9-36 V DC input.
Request a configuration review: email us through the contact page or chat with VstrongTechPC on WhatsApp. Send the workload, camera and I/O map, installation drawing and required OS so we can confirm one complete orderable configuration.

Why integrators shortlist the FI72-723

• E723-02 uses the four-core N97 at 12 W TDP; E723-04 uses the eight-core/eight-thread i3-N305 at 15 W TDP.
• Three GbE ports include two Intel i210 ports with optional PoE support and one Realtek RTL8111H port for separate camera, machine and service networks.
• Integrated 8DI/8DO, two trigger outputs, two light-source controls and two encoder inputs reduce the need for separate vision-control I/O modules.
• Three USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port and two COM ports connect cameras, peripherals and legacy industrial devices.
• A 9-36 V DC input, AT/ATX power management and optional UPS module support industrial power architectures.
These are configuration advantages, not a promise that every optional feature can be combined. Confirm the exact build code before releasing the bill of materials.

Select the processor and memory platform

FI72-723 is the VstrongTechPC commercial model for the E723 platform. Final quotations retain the source configuration code and memory version: E723-02 uses an Intel Alder Lake-N N97 processor with four cores, up to 3.60 GHz and 12 W TDP, while E723-04 uses a Core i3-N305 with eight cores/eight threads, up to 3.80 GHz and 15 W TDP. Select the processor from the camera count, inspection cycle, image-processing pipeline and local control workload.
The datasheet provides separate DDR4 and DDR5 platform variants; each uses one SO-DIMM channel and supports up to 16 GB. Specify the required memory version when ordering rather than treating DDR4 and DDR5 as interchangeable in one unit. Storage uses one M.2 2280 SATA 3.0 slot, with separate M.2 B-Key 3042/3052 and E-Key 2230 slots for 4G/5G and Wi-Fi/CNVi options.

Plan the network and peripheral map

The external network layout is three GbE ports: two Intel i210 ports with optional PoE support and one Realtek RTL8111H port. USB connectivity is three USB 3.0 ports plus one USB 2.0 port. COM1 supports RS-232/422/485 and COM2 supports RS-232. Dual independent display is available through DP 1.4a up to 4096 x 2304 @ 60 Hz and HDMI 2.0b up to 4K x 2K @ 60 Hz.
Dedicated vision-control I/O consists of eight digital inputs, eight digital outputs, two trigger outputs, two light-source controls and two encoder inputs. Confirm trigger voltage, light-source interface, encoder signal format, PoE power budget and cable pinout against the final camera and lighting hardware.
Map each camera, PLC, scanner, drive, sensor and service connection to a physical port before quotation. Where PoE, protocol switching or extra COM is optional, state it explicitly in the RFQ. This prevents a nominal port count from hiding a controller, power-budget or cable-layout mismatch.

Verify mechanical, thermal and power limits

The enclosure measures 180 x 165 x 67 mm and weighs approximately 2.0 kg. It supports wall, back and DIN-rail installation. The specified environment is 0 to 60 C operating and -40 to 85 C storage, with non-condensing humidity limits of 95% at 40 C operating and 95% at 60 C storage.
Power input is 9-36 V DC ±10% through a four-pin Phoenix terminal with remote-switch support. The platform supports AT/ATX management, has a listed maximum consumption of 60 W and offers an optional UPS module. Check grounding, connector pinout, mounting clearance, cable bend radius and the available DC power budget under maximum application load.
